Hotels


Very important

Málaga and Torremolinos are extremely busy cities during the summer (including June), and therefore hotel accommodation is quite limited. We have made all our efforts to book enough rooms for ECOOP participants at the specially negotiated rates, but they need to be confirmed 45 days before the event (i.e. before May 1st). After that, getting a hotel room at good prices gets difficult.

Please register as soon as possible !!!

ECOOP participants may decide to stay at Málaga city center or at Torremolinos (a typical tourist town in the beach, 13 Km away from Málaga).

All the hotels offered in Málaga are either in the city center, or very close to it (400 to 800 meters –see indications below). Hotels in Torremolinos are in the promenade along the sea-side, or very close to it (400 m).

Notes
  • Prices include VAT and taxes.
  • All hotels but “Tryp Alameda”, “Venecia” and “Sur” include breakfast. However, breakfast is a social activity in Spain, so there are plenty of bars and cafeterias offering a good (and not expensive) breakfast from 7:00am until noon.
  • The column marked "shared" indicates the individual prices when sharing a room with another ECOOP participant. Choose this option if your wish to share a room and get individual invoices. When you register, you will need to specify the name of the other ECOOP participant. Note that this kind of registration will not be processed until registrations from both participants have been received.
  • Apart from the public transportation available all day, buses provided by the organization will run from the hotels to the University in the morning, and from the University to the hotels after the daily events.  Average commuting times are as follows:
    • Between the city center and the University: 15 to 20 minutes by bus (plus 5 to 10 minutes waiting time in case of public buses)
    • Between Torremolinos and the University:  20 to 25 minutes by bus (public buses run from Torremolinos to the city center every 30 minutes)
    • There is also a train connecting Torremolinos and Málaga (city center), that runs every 30 minutes and takes 20 minutes.
    • Taxis are not very expensive in Málaga: about €6 between the city center and the University (15 min), and €12 between Torremolinos and the University (20 minutes).
